UBAYIMFURA Jean Pierre is a seasoned education professional with over 15 years of experience in academic instruction, career development, and quality assurance in Rwanda’s education sector.
In May 2025, he joined INES-Ruhengeri as a Career Guidance Officer, bringing a rich background in supporting student employability, industry engagement, and academic excellence.
Jean Pierre is currently pursuing a PhD in Chemistry Education at the University of Rwanda, College of Education under the African Centre of Excellence in Innovative Teaching and Learning. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Education Management from Kabale University and a Bachelor's Degree in Education (Physics-Chemistry) from the University of Rwanda.
Before joining INES-Ruhengeri, he served as the Career Guidance and Acting Industries Liaison Officer at Rwanda Polytechnic – IPRC Musanze from 2019, where he facilitated employability skills training for over 3,700 students, coordinated over 2,300 industrial attachment placements, and initiated more than 80 MoUs with industry partners.
His earlier roles include working as a Quality Assurance Officer at IPRC-Karongi (2017–2019), and as a Science Teacher at Saint Andrew’s College in Kigali (2012–2017), where he successfully integrated ICT into science teaching and mentored new educators.
Jean Pierre has collaborated with various international development agencies such as GIZ, World Vision, and Concern Worldwide through volunteering and training initiatives. He is also a certified in-company trainer for the hospitality sector, and a focal person for workplace learning in higher learning institutions in Rwanda.
His professional strengths include strategic planning for career development, relationship building with industry partners, student mentorship, and continuous quality improvement in education. His work is guided by a strong sense of purpose, aiming to create pathways for students to transition from education to employment with confidence and competence.
