Bachelor of Information Sciences and Library Management
At the end of the program, students will be
able to:
Ø Adopt
and utilize technology to connect, communicate,
collaborate, explore, develop, promote, and assess information systems
and technologies.
Ø Identify basic reference and information
resources and referral procedures.
Ø Identify appropriate methods and techniques
for material processing, storage, and preservation.
Ø Demonstrate an understanding and apply
management principles in
Ø planning, developing, marketing, and
assessing library and information services.
Ø Demonstrate skills in cataloguing and classification, in providing reference and information services and in carrying out other library and information activities by using Information and Communication Technologies.
Admission criteria
A level school leavers with two principal passes have a direct entry
into the program. Employees who work in private and public institutions as
librarians, records officers, archivists, curators, secretaries and data
managers with experience of at least two years and proven skills in library,
records management and related information activities may be admitted.
