About The Event

Mathematics always plays a crucial and indispensable role in Artificial Intelligence. Artificial Intelligence has been gaining more and more attention in the mathematical community. The Markov process, minimax optimization, and Bayesian statistics have become the most favorable tools in many Artificial Intelligence applications. Nevertheless, there still exist plenty of open problems in mathematics for Machine Learning, including the interpretability of neural networks, the optimization problems of parameter estimation, and the generalization ability of learning models.

There is a growing need to invest and focus efforts not only on basic digital access but also on more advanced types of access to the digital economy including jobs, and careers. Women in Rwanda have been constitutionally supported and their representation is moderately good in some sectors. It has been evidenced that mathematics is the key subject for sciences, 3

technology and engineering courses but the women enrolment is still low compared to their brothers. This school and the conference would be an opportunity to prove that women are able and can perform well in mathematics and sciences. They have to go beyond the myth that there are tasks meant for boys only. They also have to adapt to the environment whether conducive or not. These myths have negatively affected women and this resulted to limited access to opportunities linked to the digital economy. Given the rapid acceleration of the digital economy, many of the post- COVID 19 pandemic related jobs will be digital-related or digital-enabled. However, women, especially in rural areas, do not have access to the same opportunities and risk continuing to be worse off in the future. Thus increased participation of women in the digital economy can significantly contribute to the post- COVID-19 pandemic economic recovery. This AMS 2023 intends to be part in the related problems solving towards the brighter future in the welfare of the human community not only academically but also to save the human lives in being aware of the related mathematical decision making in the digital economy.

The objective of this school is to provide high-level training to Master's students, Doctoral students, and to allow them to discuss with various expert in the “Mathematics Decision Sciences and Artificial Intelligence in Digital Economy through the interaction of the successful and highly profiled academicians and researchers in the area of mathematics.
