TLFC Project Validation Event Held at Paysanat L School in Kirehe District

12 June 2026

On 12 June 2026, the INES Ruhengeri team implementing the Tracking and Learning in Fragile Context (TLFC) Project conducted a validation event at Paysanat L School, which accommodates students from Mahama Refugee Camp in Kirehe District.

The event was supervised by Dr. Charline Uwilingiyimana, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic and Research Affairs at INES Ruhengeri, and coordinated by the Principal Investigator, Dr. Theodore Habimana. The project team also included Prof. Irenee Ndayambaje and Dr. Charles Ndagije. The team engaged with students and the District Education Officer (DEO) of Kirehe District to validate key findings from the project.

A highlight of the event was a drama performance by Primary Five (P5) students, who demonstrated lessons learned on preventing early pregnancies among adolescent girls. The presentation became even more impactful when one of the student actors shared a real-life experience related to the issue, bringing authenticity and emotional depth to the discussion.

The performance generated strong engagement and positive reactions from fellow students, who expressed appreciation for the important message conveyed through the drama. Participants also commended INES Ruhengeri and CODE for their commitment to research and education through the implementation and funding of the TLFC Project.

The validation event reinforced the importance of evidence-based interventions in promoting the well-being and educational success of learners in fragile contexts.
