Sudan’s Ambassador to Rwanda Visits INES-Ruhengeri, Commends Excellence in Education

In a significant move to strengthen international academic ties, His Excellency Khalid Musa Dafalla Musa, the Ambassador of the Republic of the Sudan to Rwanda, paid an official visit to the INES-Ruhengeri campus today. The visit highlighted the growing partnership between the embassy and the institution, focusing on the welfare and academic success of Sudanese students.


Upon his arrival, the Ambassador was received by the Vice Chancellor of INES-Ruhengeri. In the office, the Vice Chancellor provided an overview of the institution’s journey and its specialized "Applied Sciences" approach.A key point of the discussion was the vital role played by the Sudanese student body in enriching the campus's social and academic fabric. The Vice Chancellor reassured the Ambassador of the university's unwavering commitment to providing a supportive environment that blends quality education with strong moral values.

Ambassador’s Commendation: "Education for the Evolving World"

H.E. Khalid Musa Dafalla Musa expressed his deep appreciation for the unique educational model at INES-Ruhengeri. He specifically lauded the institution for its ability to adapt to the demands of a modern, evolving global economy while remaining rooted in African identity."As an Ambassador, we really appreciate the work of INES-Ruhengeri. As we are all African, I am impressed by how you respect cultural diversity and provide the quality education and values that our children truly need," the Ambassador noted.

He further pledged that the Embassy of Sudan in Rwanda would deepen its collaboration with the university management to explore new ways of supporting international students."I personally can’t wait to recommend our young population to study at INES-Ruhengeri, given the excellence in education and values we clearly see here," he added.

Strengthening Ties with the Student Community

The visit concluded with an emotional and spirited meeting between the Ambassador and the Sudanese students currently enrolled at INES-Ruhengeri. The students welcomed the diplomat with great enthusiasm, showcasing a strong sense of community and gratitude.


The interaction served as a testament to the university’s mission: not only to produce skilled professionals but to nurture wisdom and moral values in its graduates. The Ambassador left the campus with a firm promise to continue advocating for INES-Ruhengeri as a premier destination for Sudanese youth seeking higher education in the region.

Currently, around 700 students at INES-Ruhengeri are from the Republic of Sudan, contributing to a diverse community of over 20 nationalities represented at the institution.
