INES Ruhengeri Joins National Community at Musanze Genocide Memorial for Kwibuka 32

On 7th April 2026, staff and students of INES Ruhengeri joined fellow Rwandans at the Musanze Genocide Memorial Site (Court d’Appel) to honor the lives of the Tutsi who were killed during the Genocide against the Tutsi.
The commemoration formed part of the national remembrance activities marking the beginning of the annual mourning period, a time when Rwandans come together to reflect on the tragic history of the country and reaffirm their commitment to unity and resilience. The event brought together local leaders, residents, and representatives from various institutions, all united in paying tribute to the victims and standing in solidarity with survivors.
During the #Kwibuka 32 ceremony, participants observed a moment of silence, laid wreaths, and listened to testimonies that highlighted the devastating impact of the genocide, while also emphasizing the strength and courage that have driven Rwanda’s journey of recovery and reconciliation.
For the INES Ruhengeri community, the commemoration was not only an act of remembrance but also a reaffirmation of the institution’s values of humanity, unity, and responsible citizenship. Staff and students reflected on the importance of preserving the memory of the victims and ensuring that such atrocities never happen again.
By participating in this solemn occasion, INES Ruhengeri continues to stand with the nation in honoring the past while contributing to a future built on peace, dignity, and shared responsibility.
