28 April 2026

On April 28, 2026, a delegation from Aarhus University, Denmark, visited INES-Ruhengeri to explore potential areas of collaboration and partnership between the two institutions. This visit followed the launch of the Global Health Hub held in Kigali on April 27, 2026, a joint initiative involving four universities, including INES-Ruhengeri.

The initiative is expected to contribute significantly to strengthening the capacity of health professionals in Rwanda, in line with the Ministry of Health’s 4x4 strategy, which aims to quadruple the number of healthcare professionals by 2028.

During their visit, the Aarhus University delegation engaged in fruitful discussions with the INES-Ruhengeri management team. The Vice Chancellor, Fr. Dr. Jean Bosco Baribeshya, highlighted the institution’s strong commitment to fostering meaningful international partnerships. He emphasized that, as an international university, INES-Ruhengeri is dedicated to shaping a new generation of competent and empowered health professionals across the continent.

He further encouraged both staff and students to actively embrace this opportunity, explore new knowledge, and enhance their capacity to better serve society.

The visit concluded with a campus tour, where the delegation had the opportunity to experience INES-Ruhengeri’s facilities and its green, conducive learning environment.
