INES Ruhengeri Celebrates 5th Intercultural Day in a Spectacular Display of Unity in Diversity

On 27 March 2026, INES Ruhengeri came alive with a vibrant display of colors, rhythms, and traditions as the university proudly celebrated Intercultural Day, the Fifth Edition. The event brought together students, staff, and distinguished guests in a powerful celebration of cultural diversity and unity.


With representation from 24 nations, the campus stood as a true reflection of global diversity, reinforcing INES Ruhengeri’s belief that diversity is a cornerstone of academic excellence. Students showcased their rich cultural heritage through traditional attire, music, dance, and cuisine, transforming the university into a dynamic intercultural hub.


The celebration was honored by the presence of Pascal Ngendahima, Executive Secretary of the Northern Province, alongside ambassadors from Zimbabwe, Gabon, Mali, and representatives from South Sudan and the Republic of Congo. Their participation underscored the importance of cultural exchange and international collaboration in building a more inclusive world.

In his remarks, Chancellor Vincent Harorimana emphasized the institution’s commitment to unity among its diverse student body: “While students come from different cultural backgrounds, they have one common home here at INES Ruhengeri.”

Her Excellency Prof. Charity Manyeruke, Ambassador of Zimbabwe to Rwanda, representing all participating embassies, applauded INES Ruhengeri for its initiative in shaping Africa’s future and promoting unity in diversity: “We are different by nationalities, but we are one at INES Ruhengeri.”


Local authorities and Rwandan security agencies also attended, appreciating the impeccable organization of the event.

Intercultural Day 2026 not only celebrated the richness of global cultures but also reinforced the values of mutual respect, understanding, and shared identity. It stands as a testament to INES Ruhengeri’s mission to nurture globally minded graduates equipped to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.
