Empowering Future Surveyors: INES-Ruhengeri Hosts Transformative Surveying Course

From January 13th to 17th, 2025, INES-Ruhengeri welcomed 60 eager students to participate in a specialized surveying course organized by Bildungsbrücke Ruanda in collaboration with Surveying Office Putz. This initiative aimed to provide hands-on training and enhance the practical skills of future land surveyors in Rwanda.


Course Overview

The course featured comprehensive sessions on:

  •  Resection
  • Fully Coded Surveying
  • Drawing in Civil 3D
  • Digital Leveling
  • Photo Shooting

One of the standout topics was Fully Coded Surveying, an innovative method introduced by Surveying Office Putz. This technique integrates predefined codes into software like Civil3D, significantly streamlining data collection, reducing errors, and optimizing post-processing efficiency.

Collaboration Highlights

This event was a collaborative effort driven by two prominent organizations:

  • Bildungsbrücke Ruanda: Founded in 2023 in Bielefeld, Germany, this NGO is committed to providing scholarships, stipends, and equipment for Rwandan students while fostering cultural exchange.
  • Surveying Office Putz: Based in Austria since 2014, this organization specializes in land surveying and consulting. Led by MSc Hermann Putz, it has been instrumental in supporting Rwandan students and education.

The sessions were facilitated by a dedicated team of professionals, including:

  • MANIRAGABA Jean Baptiste
  • KUBWIMANA Jean de Dieu
  • DUSABIMANA Odette

Their expertise and guidance ensured an engaging and impactful learning experience for the participants.
